Bring some rupiah (local currency) enough to pay for your visa on arrival.
As for taxi, try to get 'blue bird' as they're the most reputable company. From the airport to the hotel, go to the taxi counter tell them you want to go to Tuban they already have price list for the area. I reckon it would cost 50,000 rupiah ($6) if not less.
Always use your right hand if you want to give something to the locals. Don't step into their tiny ritual flower baskets - Balinesse make them every morning and put them on their doorsteps.
If you want to buy something, start with 1/3 of the opening price - best time to buy is either when they just open or before they close the shop. Don't try anything for fun unless you intend to buy.
